We are using Zoom to run our classes while the dojo isn't available. To maintain security we aren't posting the class links, but are emailing them to students, along with the class password.
Yes! We will be running belt promotions while training online, so you don’t need to worry about missing out on learning new material.
*If you're a new student and don't have a uniform yet, wear gym clothes that you can move comfortably in.
We plan to continue to do Zoom karate classes as part of our regular schedule until it is safe for our vulnerable and immune-compromised students to come back to class. If we resume regular classes during your trial you have two options:
1) Join us in the dojo
2) Continue to take zoom classes from the comfort of your home
We're glad you want to keep your kids moving and give them a social activity while they're stuck inside! We think everyone can benefit from the structure and activity karate brings, even if it's short term! Plus, you never know - you may have a future black belt on your hands.
Yes, karate is safe - we have few injuries than many other sports and activities (such as baseball, hockey, or dance). Martial arts training, although there is punching and kicking, focuses on the personal development of the student. Just like in any sport or activity there are risks, which is why we have safety measures in place and the expectation that students will adhere to our dojo rules.
Of course! We have many adults and parents who take karate classes. Karate is unique because it is one of the few sports where the WHOLE family can train at the same time.
